Today we made cookies for Santa and some other holiday treats. "Santa" requested peanut butter hershey kiss cookies and Harrison did an excellence job of putting the kisses in after the cookies came out of the oven. He is still learning to roll cookie dough into a ball and usually just makes a mess when he tries. He made a snake out of the dough (which looked more like a blob) and then proceeded to make the snake a blanket and confiscated one of the balls on the tray for a snake pillow. I had to do a little reorganizing before putting the tray in the oven otherwise we would have had one big snake blobby. We also made some great fudge and caramel popcorn.
I tried to get a few pictures of the kids in their Christmas outfits before church but wasn't overly successful (a good reminder of why I haven't taken them to a photo studio in many, many months). Harrison was less than cooperative despite all the bribes we offered him. Ellie did her part though and took some really cute shots. Harrison loves his train sweater vest and Ellie got lots of compliments on her dress at church.
Ellie has turned into a chatter bug. She can say: mama, dada, hi, bye ("ba"), choo-choo, banana ("nanana"), poo-poo, icky (I think this is a result of me saying, "don't dig in the garbage, that's icky" and "don't touch the diaper, that's icky" all day long), and stinky. She shakes her head for "no" and scrunches up her nose in the cutest little way when she does. Today in church she blew kisses to everyone when I had to take her out of Sacrament meeting. I think she might have a princess complex.

They look very darling! I totally understand bribing for a good picture. So far it hasn't gotten any easier for us. The cookies look absolutely scrumptious. Great job Harrison!
Oh how your kids remind me of my own!! Love that photo of Harrison with the santa hat...and Ellie is beautiful!!
I noticed E's cute dress today!
Merry Christmas! It's early Christmas morning and I am imagining the fun (and perhaps the chaos) as you help our precious grandbabies open presents. Don't stop taking photos and writing about your daily goings on---it does Topper and Grandma Lue good! Kiss Harrison and Ellie all over their faces for us, and have them give both of you big hugs from us. Have a wonderful day!
