Okay Tara, I am in a humoring mood :) (because you know I am not in a "clean the house" mood which is what I should be doing).
I have to list six things about myself and then tag some people to do likewise. I'm pretty sure there was no stipulation the items had to be interesting so you've been warned.
1. I was called to be a gospel doctrine (adult Sunday School class) teacher last week in our ward. We are studying the New Testament and I have once again been reminded that I am no scriptorian. Hey, at least it's not nursery! :)
2. I am an obsessive list maker. At any given time, I have 6-7 lists laying around the house of things I need to do today, things I need to buy at three different stores, things I want to do before the end of the week, things I want to do before the end of the month, gifts to buy, budget scenarios (x3), etc. Maybe I should be doing some of those things on one of my many lists instead of blogging...hmmm.
3. I will never buy a "fixer-up-er". I don't get a lot of joy out of old-house charm (I tried, I really tried but after living in 3 homes that exceed my great-great-grandparents in age I have finally learned you can put cute fireplaces and archways into new homes if you pay a builder enough). I have no interest in learning how to install dry wall, replace old pipes, or anything of the sort. And if history shows, Josh isn't much into "projects" either (stripping and re-staining Harrison's furniture comes to mind!). Just give me a home that was built in the past 5 years that is energy efficient and I will be as happy as a clam.
4. I love my kids but I doubt I will ever be a "kids" person. That is probably blasphemous coming from an LDS women, especially one who already has children, but it's the truth. I can count on one hand the number of times I babysat growing up. I never cared about holding babies or entertaining children the way some pre-teens do. I can honestly say the first time I held an newborn baby was 4.5 years ago when my cousin's son, Aaron, was born. Working in the church primary was completely out of my comfort zone. I have a hard time laughing at the inane jokes 6 year olds tell over and over and over (but maybe when it's my kid I'll learn). And the worst of all??? I will never decorate my kids' rooms in cartoon characters because it's just not my style. So even though Harrison would probably love a Curious George comforter, he has a classic blue striped one with black and white historic racing sailboat pictures and model fishing boats on his desk. For goodness sake, my 11-month-old has a Monet (original, of course :) ) on her wall instead of Minnie Mouse. I know, there is probably some eternal punishment for denying my children cartoon-themed rooms but I'm willing to chance it. The kid thing isn't natural to me but I'm learning. So now that you are all sufficiently scared to entrust your children with me... :)
5. I love to create things (and shop for all the supplies). I just wish I had more energy to do all of the projects I have planned.
6. I ate my first ice cream on Saturday in over six months and it was wonderful. Hooray for Ellie's allergy tests coming back with negative results for milk, egg, soy, and peanut! And butter, oh my goodness, butter! For you chick flick fans, you know that scene in "Little Women" with Winona Rider where they are preparing for Christmas and Amy says "Butter! Oh isn't butter divinity? Oh god thank you for this breakfast." I think I re-enacted that scene on Sunday when I had butter for the 1st time in sixth months. I am slowly working through all of the milk-based foods that have been denied.
So now I can tag Jami, Lindsey, and Nicole.
Happy Blogging!

Sorry, I had to delete that cause I left something out- I was asking if you got into my blog yet, should have know something was up! You tagged me! I understand the not being a "kids" person, now that I have my own- other people's are much harder to deal with. I have no idea why I was called as Primary Pres.
Just posted a response. :)
I am glad you answered-that was some interesting reading. I, too, am an obsessive list maker. Also, fixer-uppers, way overrated (once you fix it up, you start over). I understand also the "kids" person thing. Some people naturally love kids. I don't. But I am learning to because of my primary calling. Anyway, thank you for sharing.
Okay, I responded. Hope you're having a great time with Grandma Lue and Topper.
