It snowed today for the first time. I knew the day would come but I was hoping it would be after we moved (three years from now...do you think I was a little wishful?). The snow didn't stick but I am rather certain it will one day soon. Harrison was so excited and ran in to tell me. He wasn't satisfied until he had convinced me and my visiting teacher to get off the couch and go into the sunroom to see (I guess the windows in the living room weren't sufficient).
I am gearing up for my first "I'm not the kid" Thanksgiving. Hopefully my time hanging out in the kitchen on Thanksgiving will come in handy when I roll my sleeves up and attempt to cook my first turkey dinner. I already talked myself out of an all pie meal. At least that would be in my comfort zone.
Harrison has been a royal terror for the past week. I don't know what has gotten into him but he is..challenging. I told Josh the other night that Harrison was pushing me over the edge. Harrison said "where's the edge? Here mommy?" as he pointed to the edge of the living room where the hardwood meets the carpeted hall. Grrr...how do you not laugh at that?
Ellie is growing up so fast. She tries to put her own socks and shoes on and mimic everything we do. She also stands on her own when she doesn't realize it but doesn't take steps yet. She loves to put things in boxes, drawers, and bowls.
Harrison and Ellie had a great time with Topper and Grandma Lue last weekend. We went to the Children's Museum and stayed until closing (and had to be kicked out). Harrison and Ellie both loved the boat room and golf all room.
We also made a gingerbread house and Harrison thought that was cool. He had fun decorating the house with candy but I think we overdid the roof. It slowly started to slip and fall off the house. Topper had to support it with two gingerbread men "flying buttresses". Surprisingly, Harrison hasn't asked to eat the candy or gingerbread.
Harrison had a hard time seeing Topper and Grandma Lue leave and wanted to go on the airplane with them. And after the way he's been behaving this week, Josh and I would gladly put him on a plane to any of his grandparents' homes :)

Ah snow-not looking forward to that. Ian too is giving us some challenges. I tell myself it's a phase, but who am I kidding, this phase will last a long time. So, check out my blog and see your beautiful dress on my girl ;)
You can send Harrison to his Hawaii grandparents anytime! I am going through withdrawal! I'm so glad Topper and Grandma Lue got to spend some time with you (and the babies!).

The terrible-two's is a mis-nomer. Didn't you hear 3 is the new 2?
