Harrison had his first trip to the dentist today and he did amazingly well. The dental hygienist said he was very well behaved and did better than almost any three year old she has worked on. He got to wear sunglasses during the exam to shield his eyes from the exam light and he looked very stylish. Harrison was very patient while the hygienist counted his teeth and cleaned them with her "tickle" toothbrush although he would sometimes push on it with his tongue (which is no surprise considering his major tongue fetish). He got to pick two toys from the prize bucket and meticulously searched for the best ones. He settled on a red gecko and a quoosh ball-like bird (who comes up with some of this stuff?). He also picked a bright pink toothbrush (I guess he is secure in his manliness). The dentist said his teeth look great. Overall, it was a good first experience and I wish Harrison was always that well-behaved.
Ellie has added noodle and please to her vocabulary but I think we hear "cookie" the most :)
I just realized how "blugly" our site is (I just coined that word, it's short for "blog ugly"--do you think it will catch on?). Maybe I should pretty it up one of these days.

Love the action photo (video) of Ellie's firsts--it's not the same as being there, but when played over and over they make me feel a little more in touch.
Way to go, Harrison! Going to the dentist for the first time is a BIG event. A good experiece first time around bodes well for future positive experiences with the dentist.
