Harrison's stats

Harrison went to the doctor today for his three year well child visit. He is now 33.4 lbs and 38 inches tall. He passed the vision and hearing tests with flying colors. Harrison was really cute with the doctor and only turned the exam room lights off once this time. The doctor was impressed that he can recognize all the capital letters, some lower case letters, and can write "H" and "T". He was brave for his flu shot but had a complete meltdown when he had to have his blood drawn. That was the first time I had to really hold him down for a needle stick.

We have had unseasonable weather the past two days (no coats! no sweaters! no $3.29/gal heating oil!) and went to the park yesterday. There was still a layer of snow on the ground but that didn't stop Harrison and Ellie from having fun.

On to some big news, Josh was awarded an NIH training grant last Friday. This is a really big deal. Only 5 awards are given for all of Harvard, Harvard medical school, The Schepens Eye Research Institute, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. This is yet another one of those big honors with little pay (funny how that works). So yeah for Josh! This will really help him get other grants in the future and maybe even a JOB :)

And on to even bigger news, Ellie can now say "row" as in "row, row, row your boat..." (guess what we were singing today).
