The world must be coming to an end...

Ellie, my girly girl

Harrison and Ellie with "Lizard"

because I put on yoga pants and a long-sleeved T and considered myself ready for the day. For the record, I did shower and do all the other basic "ready for the day" routine. Today is the first day I wore the "lazy mom uniform" without a justifiable excuse (for me that means giving birth or having surgery within the past week). And no, I did not go out in public this way so you can all rest easy. We got 6-8 inches of snow last night and this morning so I was completely uninterested in leaving the house. I have officially let myself go :)

Ellie has become quite the talker. Last Friday I took her to the pharmacy with me to pick up a prescription. As we were leaving, I told the pharmacist "thank you" and was surprised when Ellie also said "thank you". After two days of copying us, she now says "thank you" when you give her a toy or something else she wants. She also says "juice" and says it often in hopes that she will get another cup full.

Harrison is still our crazy puzzle master and can easily put together 48 piece puzzles on his own. And we're not talking about puzzles he has done a million times, these are ones he received for his birthday and Christmas so they are still fairly new. I guess we will have to find some bigger ones for him soon.

On Saturday, we drove past one of the "T" stops (that's the train for all you non-Boston folk), and Harrison said "where's Thomas?" Thankfully Josh caught the reference because I was lost. Harrison was looking for Thomas the Tank Engine and we got a good laugh after we explained that Thomas lives far away.

I'm geekin' about our taxes and just couldn't wait one more day to put the numbers in TurboTax. I have been looking forward to this day for months :) I sat here with my preliminary numbers and old returns and had my own little party. Of course, the state of Massachusetts had to rain on my parade; they won't have their forms available until tomorrow. And now you all know what a major dork I am...

I think the lazy mom uniform is okay for snow days as long as you don't leave the house. It can definitely make a small wardrobe seem bigger.

Even if you did go out in your yoga pants, by the time you added to it all the snow gear, no one would notice (or they might not know who you were as long as you put your scarf up high enough on your face.) As long as you brush your teeth and hair, and keep those babies happy (and Josh, too) you're doing fabulous!
