The weather is a little chilly right now and if it's any indication, the kids have worn fleece footie jammies to bed for the past two nights. Today I substituted in nursery and the kids were really good. This ward has 3 (maybe 4, I haven't quite figured that out) nurseries and Harrison is in with the 2ish-almost 3ish year olds. He plays well with the other kids and was torn between the train table and the kitchens in the nursery. He was pretty awful in sacrament meeting (he likes to SCREAM) and I can't figure out what to really do about that.
Ellie is doing well but has had a runny nose all week. She is pulling herself up from a sitting position to a complete standing position. She waved for the first time last Saturday at Harrison but hasn't officially done it again. She tried clapping on her own today for the first time too. No teeth yet...
Yesterday we went to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston. It is a relatively small zoo with a limited number of animals (read here no elephants, bears, monkeys, and the kangaroos and giraffes were no where to be found in there exhibits--please explain to me how a giraffe successfully hides in a relatively small enclosure). Harrison loved the gorillas and didn't want to leave the exhibit (that and the playground were the only place he stood still for more than 25 seconds). Harrison would communicate with all the animals ("roar" at the lion, "oo-oo-oo" at the gorilla, etc) and would run from exhibit to exhibit. Ellie was just along for the ride :) The butterfly house was cool; there were hundreds of monarch butterflies, many still in the hatching phase. We have been told there is a good zoo in Hew Hampshire about an hour away that we will have to check out next.
On Friday we went to the Medford Public Library for music time with Miss Penny. There were probably 40+ kids and their moms there for the hour long interactive singing/playing instruments time. Harrison and Ellie had a lot of fun and I'm sure we will be going back for the biweekly event. We haven't done story time yet but I'm sure we will soon.

I bet there is some weather person who has made predictions about a cold August = a severe winter, or a cold August = an early spring (2008)....
We love the blog! The photos are delightful--except they make me miss you all even more.
Love ya,
Grandma Lue
